This week we have the pleasure of welcoming the super talented sisters, Sarah and Joanna from Ever After Events! They specialise in bespoke event services and work their socks off to create the most magical celebrations that ooze style and class. We wanted to get to know them a little better so decided to bombard them with questions!
Tell us a little about yourselves, how did you become event stylists?
Ever After is founded by a sisterly duo - Sarah and Joanna. As individuals, we’re passionate, we’re creative and we love a good party!
After years of hosting and attending celebrations, we wanted to combine our experience in hospitality and design to create a company that thrived on being creative, collaborative and personable.

We know you style a multitude of events, what's your favourite part?
We love to be creatively challenged so when clients request something unusual or truly bespoke, we’re usually in our element. We work tirelessly crafting and creating, so we can’t help but get overly excited about the grand unveiling and the look on their faces when their dream is a reality – there’s something kind of magical about being able to do that!
What's the most exciting project you've worked on?
Cor, that’s a toughie! If we had to pick one for the moment, it would be a winter wedding that we created last Christmas. A winter wonderland filled with frosted trees, trinkets and candlelight that by night became totally enchanting.
What's your go to source for inspiration? Do you like Pinterest? We're obsessed!
We love Pinterest – who doesn’t!? With styles being pinned from all over the world, Pinterest is a great source of inspiration and a hub of creativity. We’re also increasingly inspired by those we follow on Instagram, and with the introduction on Insta-stories, we love being immersed into other people’s projects!
What do you love the most about styling weddings?
We love creating weddings, but we also love the bits behind the scenes on the day. We always personally deliver the flowers to the bridal party and the atmosphere is contagious. A wonderful combination of nerves, happiness and curiosity is in the air and it’s these little moments before the main event that we love.
We love meeting the Mums and Dad that gaze lovingly at their Bride or Groom, and the friends that are giddy with excitement as their best friend is about to embark on their biggest adventure yet!

What's your top tip for those about to get hitched?
Our number one tip for those getting married is work with wedding suppliers that you like! Personality and trust is important, particularly when planning your special day, so recruit people that are passionate to understand you, your thoughts and your wedding vision. Yes, it sounds silly, but working with people that you enjoy speaking with will make all the difference to your planning experience and you’ll feel much more relaxed on the day.
How do you work alongside couples to create their dream day?
Crafting someone’s dream day hinges on getting to know their personalities, passions and quirks; that’s why we invite couples to our studio for champagne and plenty of wedding chatter!
We listen to their wishes, woes and engagement tales so that we can truly get to know their likes and dislikes. We share design ideas, Pinterest pages and industry insight before meeting at their wedding venue. Meeting on-site with samples allows our couples to be immersed in their wedding design before the big day, so they know exactly what to expect.

Do you think the evolution of technology has had an impact on your work within the wedding industry?
Social media and the ‘sharing’ community has had the biggest impact for us. A few years ago, there was little desire for a stylist, but with the likes of Pinterest and Instagram becoming increasingly popular, we find more and more people are applying their attention to the details. People are focusing of the little things that elevate their event to something out of the ordinary, all inspired by others.
Have you noticed any emerging themes or colours this year? Any predictions for 2018?
This year we’ve been inundated with requests for rose gold and geometric designs. It’s a trend heavily influenced by interior design styles, but makes for a beautiful wedding!
With terrariums and metallic, this trend looks gorgeous by day but by night, candlelight dances off angled glass shapes and creates another level of charm – what’s not to love?
We’re intrigued to see what 2018 will bring…
