As told by Jasmine from The Wild Fork

Our Spring saw the marriage of the delightful Charlie & Jamie. At The Long Barn at Newton Valance, friends and family gathered to celebrate their love and enjoyed a beautiful day in stunning surroundings.

On arrival to the venue, Champagne, Elderflower and refreshing Cucumber Water were enjoyed as our waiters and waitresses circulated an array of fresh spring time treats. Their canapé menu included the following, all served on rustic wooden boards in the true Wild Fork style:
  • Prawn Cocktail, Gem Lettuce & Lime
  • Sesame Seared Tuna
  • Red Pepper & Goat Cheese Tart
  • Pea & Mint Bruschetta
  • Game Bird Cocktail Sausages

After drinks and photographs in the sunshine, it was time to move into the jaw dropping-ly beautiful barn, decorated from head to toe in vibrant florals and twinkling lights.

We loved the simple elegance of the table set up; crisp white linen, our premium glassware and silverware and stunning flowers adorning the centre. Each table was lovingly named by watercolour artwork of various birds, which was a really unique and romantic idea we had not come across before.

Once the guests were seated and wine was poured, it was time for the Wedding Breakfast to be served. Charlie & Jamie opted for the following menu, which they claim to still be receiving compliments from today!

Starter

Pan Fried Pigeon Breast, Pickled Girroles, Celeriac, Baby Salad Leaves

Main

Thyme Crusted Rack, Haunch & Cremesque of Shoulder of Venison served with…

Caulflower, Romanesco, Game Chips & Red Wine Jus

Dessert

Pudding Boards of Pistachio Brownie, Fruit Tarts, Shot Glass Trifles, Passionfruit & Ginger Cheesecake

Once the Breakfast had finished and the speeches had commenced, the band started, creating such a lovely atmosphere. Guests spilled out into the garden laughing and chatting as night fell.

Later on, in amongst the boogying we served an array of evening delights including Confit Duck Sliders and Hot Dogs. The Bridal Party also supplied a Cheese Truck and Pick and Mix Table which went down a treat.
We thoroughly enjoyed catering for such lovely people and the photographs really captured the happiness and emotion throughout the day.

Keep your eyes peeled: Not only was Charlie a glamorous bride, but also an extremely talented one. Wedding Shed will soon be sharing some pretties from Charlie’s beautiful coastal range.
